Today the Dome Conservancy is one of the province's prime adventure tourism sites. The Dome area in Potchefstroom offers a very unique experience for the visitor. Apart from sight-seeing, this natural phenomenon formed by a meteorite caters for the adventurous with hiking trails, river rafting opportunities, etc.

The Potchefstroom Country Club with its 18-hole golf course, forms part of the Green Belt. The golf course, 9 holes of which are played across the Mooi Rivier, was the first grass course in the South African interior and has played host twice to the South African Open.
